Trade Information
The SINOTRUK HOWO 8×4 heavy-duty dump truck is built on the brand’s time-tested, mature 8×4 heavy-load chassis layout, consisting of two front steer axles and two heavy-duty rear drive axles. Compared with the common 6×4 three-axle dump trucks, this four-axle structure boasts dramatically higher load-bearing limits and better stress dispersion, making it fully capable of sustained large-tonnage bulk material hauling in harsh industrial environments.
Under the cab sits a choice of two reliable Weichai diesel power units: the WP12 engine rated at 371 horsepower and the upgraded WP13 variant delivering 400 horsepower. Both power plants are engineered to produce tremendous low-end torque, granting the vehicle outstanding starting traction and climbing capability when navigating slippery muddy mine roads, steep mountain ramps and uneven construction yards. To accommodate global market regulations, our factory calibrates the engines to meet Euro II or Euro III emission standards, perfectly complying with vehicle registration and entry requirements across Africa, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Power is transferred through SINOTRUK’s self-developed HW19712 twelve-speed manual transmission with integrated high-low range auxiliary gearing. The wide gear ratio range enables seamless shifts between low-speed heavy-load crawling and medium-high speed highway transit, minimizing mechanical power loss and optimizing overall fuel consumption for long-term operation. The rear axles are heavy-duty 16-ton cast double-reduction units with a standard final drive ratio of 5.73, matched with extra-thickened multi-leaf suspension springs and reinforced shock absorbers. Even when fully loaded to the maximum gross vehicle weight of 40 tons, the chassis maintains stable handling on bumpy, unpaved worksites, with critical load-bearing structural components highly resistant to bending, deformation and fatigue fractures over thousands of working hours. Every key mechanical joint is pre-greased and sealed at the factory to cut down routine lubrication maintenance for overseas operators.
