Fire Truck Introduction
A fire truck is a special vehicle designed for fire fighting, emergency rescue, and emergency support. As defined in the national standard GB 7956.1, it is "a motor vehicle equipped with fire-fighting equipment or mainly used for fire-fighting purposes". Painted red overall and fitted with warning lights and sirens, it is core equipment for urban emergency rescue.
I. Basic Structure
It consists of five core systems: chassis, tank, fire pump, equipment compartment, and special devices.
- Chassis: Mostly heavy-duty truck chassis, available in light, medium and heavy versions, with four-wheel drive for complex road conditions.
- Tank: Water tank (2–30 tons), foam tank (1–15 tons), dry powder tank (0.5–10 tons), etc.
- Fire pump: High-flow fire pump (40–100L/s) providing high-pressure water or liquid supply.
- Equipment compartment: Stores fire hoses, demolition tools, breathing apparatus, lighting equipment, etc.
- Special devices: Ladders, elevated platforms, fire monitors, lighting systems, demolition tools, etc.
II. Core Classification (by Function)
1. Fire Fighting Type (Main Combat)
- Water tank fire truck: The most common type, carrying 2–20 tons of water, used for solid fires, applicable in urban and rural areas.
- Foam fire truck: Carrying 1–8 tons of foam concentrate, used for oil and chemical fires in oil depots and chemical plants.
- Dry powder fire truck: Spraying dry powder for gas, electrical and metal fires.
2. Aerial Type (High-Altitude Rescue)
- Aerial ladder fire truck: Telescopic ladder of 15–55 meters for rapid high-altitude rescue and material transportation.
- Elevated platform fire truck: Working height of 22–78 meters with a manned platform for high-altitude rescue and fire fighting.
- Elevated spraying fire truck: Spraying arm of 18–60 meters for long-distance fire extinguishing.
3. Special Service Type (Special Rescue)
- Rescue fire truck: Equipped with demolition, towing and lighting tools for traffic accidents, collapses, earthquakes and other disasters.
- Communication and command fire truck: On-site command, communication relay and video transmission.
- Chemical rescue fire truck: Chemical protection, decontamination and plugging for hazardous chemical leaks.
4. Support Type
- Water supply fire truck: Large-capacity water tank for long-distance water supply to ensure continuous water at fire scenes.
- Equipment fire truck: Carrying a large number of spare equipment to supply the front line.
III. Main Functions
- Fire fighting: Spraying water, foam or dry powder to cool, smother and isolate fire sources.
- Emergency rescue: High-altitude rescue, demolition and rescue, chemical treatment, smoke extraction and ventilation.
- Emergency support: On-site lighting, communication command, water and liquid supply, equipment replenishment.
- Special scenarios: Exclusive models for airports, subways, tunnels, petrochemical plants, forests, etc.
IV. Naming and Model
- Common naming: Function + Type (e.g. Water Tank Fire Truck, Aerial Ladder Fire Truck).
- Official model: In accordance with GA/T 114, the code follows the rule: Enterprise Code + Category Code + Gross Mass + Structural Feature + XF + Parameter (Example: SHX5110GXFSG50).
V. Features
- High mobility: Powerful, fast acceleration, able to reach the scene quickly.
- Multi-functional integration: Multi-purpose,
