Product Features & Applications

The cast-stone trough scraper conveyor is mainly composed of the drive unit, machine head, middle trough, machine tail, scraper chain and other components. Its power transmission route is as follows: the torque of the motor is transmitted to the drive sprocket assembly via the coupling and reducer, which pulls the scraper chain to move and forms a closed traction system.

1. Drive Unit

The drive unit serves as the power component of the conveyor, consisting of a motor, high-speed coupling, planetary gear reducer, low-speed coupling and other parts, all of which are integrally mounted on the drive base. According to layout forms, drive units are divided into in-line type and vertical type. The vertical type is mainly applied in narrow installation spaces.

2. Machine Head Section

The machine head section is composed of a head frame and head sprocket assembly. As the transmission component driving the scraper chain, the head sprocket assembly mainly includes a main shaft, bearings, bearing housings and sprockets. The rear end of the machine head is connected to the middle trough via flanges.

3. Middle Trough

The middle trough is the core part for material transportation of the conveyor. It is assembled by multiple standard 3.5-meter middle trough sections and one or two connecting trough sections according to the required total conveyor length. All sections are fastened together by end flanges and bolts.
Middle troughs are available in single-layer and double-layer types upon customer demand, and can be equipped with electric or manual gates to realize bidirectional conveying and discharging at any position. The middle trough is supported by lower legs, which can be fixed at proper positions on the trough body as required (make sure legs do not contact the stiffeners at the trough bottom). Cast stone liners shall be laid on the trough bottom and scraper chain guide rails after on-site installation.

4. Machine Tail

The machine tail comprises a tail frame, tail sprocket assembly and tensioning device. Its front end is flange-connected to the middle trough. The lead screw of the tail tensioning device can be adjusted to tension the bearing housing of the tail sprocket assembly, so as to control the tightness of the chain.

5. Scraper Chain

The scraper chain is the main carrier for coal transportation and one of the critical components of the conveyor. It mainly consists of round link chains, connecting links and scrapers.
